Experiencing God’s Favour And Supply
In February 2018, just before Chinese New Year, my husband was informed that he would be made redundant by his company. He was given a month’s notice.
At that time, we had just moved into our new house and were financially stretched. We were devastated and shattered. I told some of my Christian friends, yearning for their prayers because we really did not know what to do!
My good friend, who had been passing me Pastor Prince’s sermon CDs, came to visit us over Chinese New Year with her family. She passed us more CDs, prayed for us and invited us to attend New Creation Church.
We started attending New Creation Church and listening to Pastor Prince’s sermon CDs. The more we listened, the more we believed that God is our good heavenly Father who is ever ready to bless us. We also learnt that it was never His plan to take things away from us in order to teach us a lesson.
After Chinese New Year, my husband’s employer informed him that he would be given two months’ notice instead. It was truly God’s blessing.
Soon after, his business contact offered him a position but I did not feel the peace for him to accept the role. Then, in March, another company approached him and offered him a position with a similar pay package. All these happened before his two months’ notice period was up!
He accepted the second offer, but we continued to pray for another job opening which eventually came through a referral by a friend.
The amazing part was, although we have heard stories of graduates who had not been able to get a job after being made redundant, my husband, who is not even a graduate, received two job offers before his notice period was up. In fact, the minimum requirement for the position which he had secured was a university degree.
In addition, we had also been trying to rent out my parent’s property to pay off some of our monthly home loan instalments. But my mum is very particular when it comes to selecting a tenant. According to our agent, her criteria would eliminate 60 per cent of the rental population. However, within a month, we managed to rent the property out at a rate that was higher than expected!
We truly see God’s supply in every situation. Though there are many voices of doubt about the economy and our future, we know that we can simply put our trust in God believing that He has plans to prosper us and not to harm us. He is a loving Father! All praise to Him!
