Blessed with Baby Girl After 13 Years of Trying
In May 2019, I heard Pastor Prince preach a sermon in which he specifically mentioned that someone listening would have a breakthrough in their infertility within the next year. At that time, my husband and I had been married for almost 13 years and were unable to conceive.
My husband had maintained faith throughout the whole marriage that we would have a child, specifically a daughter. But I have to admit that after numerous negative pregnancy tests, I had all but lost my faith that God wanted to give us a child.
I’d prayed earlier in our marriage that the Lord would not give us a child unless we could afford to have me stay home and take care of the baby. I felt that since I’d prayed for that, the Lord was not going to give us a child. I suppose you could say I felt condemned by my own request.
When I heard Pastor Prince’s prophecy, I made a note on my calendar for 1 year later, and I just sort of forgot about it. In December 2019, I found a plaque with the verse, “For this child I prayed; and the LORD has granted me my petition which I asked of Him” (1 Samuel 1:27). I purchased it as a gift for my husband that Christmas and hung it on our bedroom wall.
In March 2020, I took a pregnancy test and received a positive result! I immediately remembered Pastor Prince’s prophecy and praised God for His faithfulness. On November 2, 2020, our daughter, Esme Ivah, was born! In addition to this, we were able to afford having me quit my job to be a stay-home mom. God has been faithful and good to answer all our prayers in a greater way than we could have imagined.
