I have struggled with my daughters’ rebellion for the last four years. A year ago, my elder daughter even moved out of the house. Despite numerous efforts to rescue them from bad influences, they were futile.

I was raised as a Christian and had accepted Christ in 1985. The many Christian churches I went to always taught a mixture of law and grace, and I was a lukewarm Christian. My dad was a womanizer and I grew up seeing how my mum suffered as a result. This and the lack of a father’s love made me believe wrongly and accept a man whom I thought was giving me the right kind of love.

I am an 18-year-old student in Singapore. Before I accepted Jesus as my Saviour, I was an extremely short-tempered person.

My daughter had a foundation in Christ because of what I had taught her as a kid. But she headed down a wayward path because of secular influences later in her life. She gave her virginity away because it was “no big deal” to her.

Pastor Joseph Prince, 6 years ago, my life was a disaster. I was forced to divorce my wife and to break up with my family and friends. I was at the lowest point in my life. I had a lot of financial debts, and I was addicted to pornography and smoking. I was completely alone without my family and friends. There were many days where I didn’t have anything to eat in the evening because I had no money.

I had never heard the gospel preached until I chanced upon Pastor Prince’s YouTube channel. Pastor Prince’s preaching made it easy for me to understand the gospel of grace and how much the Lord Jesus loved me that He would die for me on the cross. Eventually, I received the Lord Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour.

I had been raised by a cruel and abusive father who was mentally unsound and incredibly legalistic. I spent my childhood fearing him and struggled desperately to be loved. By the time I was a teenager, my self-esteem was incredibly low. I thought I was hideously unattractive, stupid, and a burden to anybody I met.

I gave my life to Jesus 2 years ago. On that day, I let go of the toxic relationships I had. But this year, I found myself in another toxic relationship with a man I became sexually involved with. I ended up walking away from the relationship but it caused me such brokenness and grief. I lost sight of who I was in Jesus. I was drowning in depression, fear, negative thoughts, anxiety, and acted out from a place of great sadness, jealousy, and anger.

I was given your book Destined To Reign, some years ago but never got round to reading it. Whilst cleaning out my book collection over a year ago, I donated all my Christian books to a local church library but Destined To Reign somehow stayed in my home unread.

My children had been taken away from me in 1983. Their mother married another man who adopted my children, and they tried to prevent me from seeing them again.

When our son Jonas was 11 months, he was diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia. The doctors recommended that Jonas go for a bone marrow transplant as there was no other cure for the disease and we were told chemotherapy might not work.

My mother had always been open to prayers and hearing sermons, but she was never saved. So, one of my prayer requests this year was for her to receive Christ as her Lord and Saviour.
