Protected From Severe Scalding
One morning during my usual prayer time, I felt an urge to confess Psalm 91:1 over myself. Later that day, I was cooking lunch for my family and was boiling a large saucepan of water. The pan was filled to the brim. As I stood watching the water boil, I thanked God for His grace. Ten minutes later, when I took the saucepan off the stove to pour the water out, the water spilled onto both my hands.
In that instant, I recalled how as a child I had suffered third-degree burns on my left hand from boiling hot water. That experience had scarred me emotionally. So I immediately thought, “No, please, no,” and let out a ear-piercing scream! But to my surprise, the boiling hot water felt lukewarm on my hands. I set the saucepan down and shouted, “Hallelujah! Thank You, Abba!”
Indeed, I abide under the shadow of the Almighty! Thank You, Lord, for Your grace and protection!
