I grew up in an abusive family where my father was indifferent to my problems. I could not go to him for affection or help, and my response to him was mostly one of fear.

Pastor Prince, we came from a background where we received heavy legalistic teaching before we discovered the gospel of God’s grace.

I was saved at the age of fourteen but struggled with rejection, ridicule, confusion, loneliness, and failures for many years. I sat under legalistic teachings that caused me to be self-occupied and to believe that my salvation depended on how well I could keep God’s law. This only perpetuated sin in my life.

I’m thirty-four years old and was involved in full-time ministry for thirteen years. For seven years, my husband and I pastored a local urban church in Chicago. We conducted Bible studies, seminars, teachings, trainings and outreaches. We saw people saved, water baptized, filled with the Holy Spirit and went through discipleship courses. However, we saw very little lasting fruit.

Since childhood, I have always suffered from bunions. At school, I was permitted to wear sandals as normal shoes would cause the bunions to flare up. When I started reading your book, Destined To Reign, my bunions were very painful. It was so painful that I literally could not sleep and I had to lie with my foot off the bed as it would hurt if it touched anything.
