Freed From Sexual Sins After Confessing Righteousness In Christ
I grew up in a legalistic environment. We were taught to ask for God’s forgiveness each time we sinned to avoid going to hell. We were also taught that we could lose our salvation and that kept us sin-conscious. We saw an angry God who would punish us for every sin committed.
As I grew older, I was addicted to pornography and masturbation. I tried to stop it using legalistic methods but the more I tried, the further I went. I am part of a church band and many times I felt guilty ministering to the church knowing how sinful I was.
Last year, Jesus introduced me to His grace through Pastor Prince messages and his book Grace Revolution. As I studied grace, the revelation of “I’m the righteousness of God through faith in what Jesus had done for me” began to shape my thinking, and I began to experience effortless victory not only over pornography but also over many other things. As I declared that I’m the righteousness of God through Christ Jesus, I began to experience favor, joy, and peace instead of guilt.
Today, I am glad to say that I have been freed from the devil’s trap, and I live in absolute victory because of what Jesus had done for me. I’ve also discovered the power of words and how they can build or destroy a person.
I want to say a very big thank You to God for all He’s done for me. I also want to thank Pastor Prince for allowing God to use him to share truths about God’s Word. Hallelujah!
