We believe in the nine gifts of the Spirit and the nine attributes of the fruit of the Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:7\u201311, Galatians 5:22\u201323).<\/p><p><strong>We believe<\/strong> the good news that God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, Jesus, and whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved (John 3:16\u201317). We believe we are called to bring this good news\u2014the gospel of grace\u2014to all nations (Acts 20:24).<\/p><p><strong>We believe<\/strong> that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). All who call on the name of the Lord Jesus shall be saved (Romans 10:13). The Bible tells us, \u201cIf you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 6:23 tells us, \u201cFor the wages of sin is death\u201d. The good news is that Romans 6:23 does not stop there. It goes on to say, \u201cBut the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord\u201d. In Christ, \u201cwe have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace\u201d (Ephesians 1:7). The Bible also tells us, \u201cIf we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness\u201d (1 John 1:9). Therefore, it is essential that when someone becomes a believer in Jesus Christ, they acknowledge their sins, recognise their need for a Saviour, and make a personal decision to receive His complete forgiveness for all their sins.<\/p><p><strong>We believe<\/strong> that as born-again believers in Jesus Christ, we are called to live victoriously over the power of sin and to \u201cwalk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God\u201d (Colossians 1:10). We believe sin is always accompanied by destructive consequences. This is not the result of God\u2019s punishment against believers, but the destructive consequences of sin itself. To illustrate, a believer may exercise their free choice and place their hand into an open fire. The destructive consequence is the result of this person\u2019s proactive choice rather than punishment from God.<\/p><p><strong>We believe<\/strong> grace is a teacher who teaches true believers to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts. The Bible is very clear in stating that, <b>\u201cthe grace of God<\/b> that brings salvation has appeared to all men, <b>teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age\u201d<\/b> (Titus 2:11\u201312). Grace is not a licence to sin. Any person who makes this false claim to justify their own life choices does not understand the gospel of grace and does not represent what we believe.<\/p><p><strong>We believe<\/strong> that sin shall not have dominion over believers who have an accurate revelation of the gospel of grace and who lay hold of their righteous identity in Christ. Romans 6:8, 12\u201314 makes this clear: \u201cNow if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him...Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. <b>For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.\u201d<\/b><\/p><p class=\"text-center\"><em><b>For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace. Romans 5:17 tells us, \u201cMuch more those who <b>receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.\u201d<\/b><\/p><p><strong>We believe<\/strong> that truly born-again believers are not looking for an excuse to sin. How can they if they have been impacted by Jesus\u2019 love and sacrifice? We believe they are looking for a way out of sin and out of the prison of fear, guilt, and condemnation. We have observed that the more we proclaim God\u2019s amazing grace and unconditional love, the more we receive testimony after testimony from people around the world who have been liberated from pornography, alcoholism, drugs, and sexual immorality. That is the power of the gospel of grace. The old covenant of the law was given through a servant. Grace and truth came through the Son. The law talks about what man ought to be. Grace reveals who God is to man. In the first miracle of Moses, he turned water into blood, resulting in death. In the first miracle of grace, Jesus turned water into wine, resulting in life and celebration. The letter kills, but the Spirit gives life (2 Corinthians 3:6). Under the law, God demands righteousness from spiritually bankrupt man. But under grace, God provides righteousness as a gift (2 Corinthians 5:21, Romans 5:17).<\/p><p><strong>We believe<\/strong> that through the cross at Calvary, all who believe in Jesus and acknowledge Him as their Lord and Saviour are under the new covenant of grace. Under the law, God said He will by no means clear the guilty but will visit their sins to the third and fourth generations (Exodus 34:7). Under grace, God says, \u201cI will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more\u201d (Hebrews 8:12). The law is man-centred whereas grace is Jesus-centred. The law focuses on <strong>what we must accomplish<\/strong> to be justified. Grace focuses entirely on <strong>what Jesus has accomplished<\/strong> for our justification. Under the law, we are disqualified by our disobedience. Under grace, we are <strong>qualified by Jesus\u2019 obedience<\/strong>. Under the law, we are made righteous when we do right. Under grace, we are made righteous when we believe right (Romans 4:3\u20138).<\/p><p class=\"text-center\"><em><b>For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ (John 1:17)<\/b><\/em><\/p><p><strong>We believe<\/strong> the Ten Commandments are holy, just, glorious, and good, and we have the utmost honour and esteem for the perfect law of God. We believe the Ten Commandments are so pristine in their standard and so unbending in their holy requirements that as Galatians 3:11 spells out, \u201cno one is justified by the law in the sight of God.\u201d Justification before God can only come by faith in Christ: \u201cKnowing that <strong>a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ<\/strong>, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified...For I through the law died to the law that I might live to God. I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh <strong>I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain\u201d<\/strong> (Galatians 2:16, 19\u201321).<\/p><p><strong>We believe<\/strong> that believers who have been transformed by the power of the Lord\u2019s grace will desire to fulfil and keep the moral excellencies, values, and virtues espoused by the Ten Commandments. True grace produces true holiness. As apostle Paul proclaimed, \u201cLove does no harm to a neighbour; therefore love is the fulfilment of the law\u201d (Romans 13:10).<\/p><p><strong>We believe<\/strong> that God\u2019s people under grace not only fulfil the letter of the law, but in Christ, they exceed it and go the extra mile. For example, the law can only command one to not commit adultery, and while a person can keep that law outwardly, it is possible that inwardly, they still have no love for their spouse. Grace doesn\u2019t just deal with the surface or outward behaviour modification but goes deeper. It teaches a man to love his wife as Christ loved the church and to build a beautiful marriage based on the power of the cross. That is the transforming power of God\u2019s grace. The power to love and to live morally glorifying lives comes from first experiencing the Lord\u2019s most intimate love for us (1 John 4:19). Having experienced God\u2019s extravagant grace, not only will one not covet what belongs to their neighbour, but they will also have the power to be generous to their neighbour and community. We believe this is what happened to Zacchaeus after he experienced the grace of God firsthand. He said, \u201cLook, Lord, I give half of my goods to the poor; and if I have taken anything from anyone by false accusation, I restore fourfold\u201d (Luke 19:8).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"accordion-item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"accordion-header\" id=\"heading-3\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<button class=\"accordion-button collapsed\" type=\"button\" data-bs-toggle=\"collapse\" data-bs-target=\"#collapse-23bae61-3\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"collapse-23bae61-3\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tTrue Repentance In Christ\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/button>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"collapse-23bae61-3\" class=\"accordion-collapse collapse \">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"accordion-body\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>We believe<\/strong> that it is essential to understand the original meaning of the Greek word for \u201crepentance\u201d and not just the tradition of doing outward penance. The Greek word for \u201crepentance\u201d is metanoia, which means \u201ca change of mind\u201d. Repentance that involves a genuine change of mind goes deeper than purely outward expressions of repentance. A person can appear outwardly remorseful and even cry bitter tears and still not experience breakthrough over their sin. True repentance (metanoia) speaks of genuine contrition, a recognition of wrongdoing, and a real inward desire to turn away from sin and to return to grace by having a revelation of the cross (2 Corinthians 7:9\u201310).<\/p><p><strong>We believe<\/strong> one can only experience true repentance and break free from sin <strong>by having faith in the efficacy of the finished work of our Lord Jesus<\/strong>. We believe that if a believer has fallen into sin and is struggling with a sinful habit today, it is essential that they have a change of mind and believe by faith that even that sin has been punished in the body of Jesus, and begin to receive afresh God\u2019s forgiveness, God\u2019s unmerited favour, and God\u2019s righteousness to overcome that weakness. We encourage all who have failed to not run away from our Lord Jesus but rather run to Him. Jesus is the solution, the answer, and the victory out of the destructive cycle of sin (Romans 5:17).<\/p><p class=\"text-center\"><em><b>For if by the one man's offence death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ. (Romans 5:17)<\/b><\/em><\/p><p><strong>We believe<\/strong> in progressive sanctification. The moment we received Jesus as our Lord and Saviour, we were forgiven, cleansed, perfected in righteousness, and saved. We were also sanctified in Christ (Hebrews 10:10). However, it is important to understand that the revelation and outworking of our sanctification in Christ are progressive. As a believer, we cannot become more righteous, but we can become more sanctified or holy in terms of how we live our lives. In other words, while a believer has been justified and made righteous by the blood of Jesus once and for all, sanctification is ongoing in their growth as a Christian. The more one grows in grace and in their relationship with the Lord\u2014the more one is washed again and again by the water of the word of God\u2019s grace\u2014the more one grows in sanctification and holiness. This is why the author of the book of Hebrews says that we \u201care being sanctified\u201d even though we have been \u201cperfected forever\u201d by Christ\u2019s one act of obedience at the cross (Hebrews 10:14).<\/p><p><strong>We believe<\/strong> that, \u201cAll Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, <strong>for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness\u201d<\/strong> (2 Timothy 3:16). We are thus wary of any counterfeit \u201cgrace teaching\u201d that says behaviour, discipline, correction, and right living are not important. The revelation of forgiveness does not detract from, nor is it at the expense of, right living. Instead, it is the fuel that makes right living happen. However, it is vital that we know that the Lord will never correct us with tragic accidents, sicknesses, and diseases. The Bible tells us, \u201cFor the Lord corrects those he loves, just as a father corrects a child in whom he delights\u201d (Proverbs 3:12, NLT).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"accordion-item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"accordion-header\" id=\"heading-4\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<button class=\"accordion-button collapsed\" type=\"button\" data-bs-toggle=\"collapse\" data-bs-target=\"#collapse-23bae61-4\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"collapse-23bae61-4\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tOur Father&#039;s Heart To Provide For Us\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/button>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"collapse-23bae61-4\" class=\"accordion-collapse collapse \">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"accordion-body\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>We believe our heavenly Father\u2019s heart is to provide for His children just as we who are earthly parents desire to provide for our children. Our Lord Jesus expressed the Father\u2019s heart in the Sermon on the Mount when He said, \u201cTherefore do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or What shall we wear?' For all these things the Gentiles seek. For <strong>your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things\u201d<\/strong> (Matthew 6:31\u201332). However, while our heavenly Father desires for His children to be abundantly supplied and to experience good success (2 Corinthians 9:8, Joshua 1:8, Psalm 1:1\u20133), He does not want His children to be consumed with materialism or obsessed with the pursuit of money (Ecclesiastes 5:10, Matthew 6:24).<\/p><p>The apostle Paul makes it clear in his letter to Timothy when he writes, \u201cGodliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content. But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition. <strong>For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil,<\/strong> for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. <strong>But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness\u201d<\/strong> (1 Timothy 6:6\u201311). We believe our priority is to seek our Lord Jesus first in all things and to make Him, not the pursuit of money and worldly success, the centre of our lives. As we put our trust in Him, His blessings follow. We believe that blessings, prosperity, and good success from the Lord are holistic and not simply material or financial, and they begin with soul prosperity (3 John 1:2).<\/p><p class=\"text-center\"><em><b>Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. (3 John 1:2)<\/b><\/em><\/p><p>We believe that people who are under grace have a spirit of generosity, giving freely of their time, energy and financial resources to support, love, and care for the less fortunate. As a church, we participate actively in and sow generously to many grassroots initiatives in our local community, as well as give to many humanitarian relief efforts around the world. For those who are financially more well off, we encourage them to heed the advice given by the apostle Paul: \u201cCommand those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy. <strong>Let them do good, that they be rich in good works,<\/strong> ready to give, willing to share, storing up for themselves a good foundation for the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life\u201d (1 Timothy 6:17\u201319). We do not subscribe to what has been labelled the \u201cprosperity gospel\u201d, and neither do we teach that all believers will be very wealthy. We do not advocate greed, materialism, avarice, or the love of money. On the contrary, we teach that believers are blessed to be a blessing to others (Genesis 12:3, 2 Corinthians 9:8).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"accordion-item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"accordion-header\" id=\"heading-5\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<button class=\"accordion-button collapsed\" type=\"button\" data-bs-toggle=\"collapse\" data-bs-target=\"#collapse-23bae61-5\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"collapse-23bae61-5\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tSignificance Of The Holy Communion\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/button>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"collapse-23bae61-5\" class=\"accordion-collapse collapse \">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"accordion-body\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>We believe<\/strong> the holy Communion commemorates the Lord\u2019s death, and we partake of the holy Communion in remembrance of Him (1 Corinthians 11:24\u201325). The holy Communion is also known as the Eucharist, from the Greek word eucharistia, which means \u201cthanksgiving\u201d. At the cross, \u201cHe was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed\u201d (Isaiah 53:5). When we remember and honour the Lord\u2019s death through partaking of the holy Communion by faith, we are giving thanks and receiving afresh all that He has accomplished at the cross on our behalf, which includes health, wholeness, and peace. We join the psalmist in proclaiming with thankfulness in our hearts, \u201cBless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from destruction, who crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies, who satisfies your mouth with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's\u201d (Psalm 103:1\u20135).<\/p><p><strong>We believe<\/strong> in partaking of the holy Communion corporately as the unified body of Christ every Sunday, according to the tradition of the early church in the book of Acts. Partaking in a manner that is worthy means to <strong>partake with a revelation of His finished work,<\/strong> recognising that we are not partaking of an ordinary meal, but one that is holy and set apart. It means we are to partake with our faith centred on our Lord Jesus, always being conscious that as we partake of the bread, we remember His body was broken so that ours might be whole (1 Corinthians 11:24, Isaiah 53:5).
